PARTNERS FOR EMPLOYMENT IS HIRING!



The UNM Center for Development and Disability’s Partners for Employment (PFE) program is looking to hire 2 Education Specialists to work in communities throughout New Mexico. The Education Specialist position coordinates and facilitates trainings, hosts regional meetings, and provides technical assistance in support of PFE’s mission to advance supported employment best practices for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).


The Education Specialist

Experience leading and facilitating community teams.


The Education Specialists work with community stakeholders to assess training and technical assistance needs, create training and educational resources, disseminate information, coordinate and implement online and in-person training events. Education Specialists will need to possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse communities. Experience leading and facilitating community teams and providing training and technical assistance to individuals with diverse levels of technical skill is essential to this position.


Preferred Experience

Supported employment and school-to-work best practice.


The individuals who are hired for this position will need to have the ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities and meet monthly reporting deadlines. Project management, organization and coordination skills are strongly desired. Experience working with individuals with I/DD in a community setting is preferred. Familiarity with supported employment and school-to-work best practices is also preferred. These positions require regular statewide travel. While statewide travel has been temporarily suspended, travel will resume when it is safe to do so.
