Minimum Wage Increase
New Mexico’s minimum wage will increase on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in accordance with the Minimum Wage Act. The state minimum wage will increase from $11.50 to $12 per hour and state tipped minimum wage will increase from $2.80 to $3 per hour.
Employers are required to post the New Mexico Minimum Wage Act (MWA) Summary Poster in a place where all workers can easily see it, the MWA Summary Poster in both English and Spanish are available on our website at https://www.dws.state.nm.us/en-us/Businesses/Rules-and-Regulations/State-and-Federal-Posters.
An email blast will be sent to employers with this information and attached PDF’s of both posters.
1099 Information
1099-G forms will be mailed out in January to all individuals who received Unemployment Insurance benefits from the agency during calendar year 2022. Mailing of the forms will take place throughout the month and completed by January 31, 2022.
The 1099-G forms will also be available on individuals online UI claimant homepage under the correspondence folder. Adobe Acrobat or other PDF reader software is required to access, print, and save this form from a computer or mobile device.
If an individual has a discrepancy on their 1099-G, has questions, needs information, or are requesting a reprint of their tax form, they may submit their request online at https://www.dws.state.nm.us/1099. Reprint requests for 2022 will not be accepted until after February 1, 2023.
Alert bars in UIA will be updated to include this information and the following email message will be sent to claimants based on their language preference of English or Spanish.
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) will be sending out 1099-G tax statements to all individuals who received Unemployment Insurance (UI) funds from the Department during calendar year 2022. The form will be mailed to the address listed on your UI claimant account by January 31,, 2023. If you wish to update your address, please log into the Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System (https://www.jobs.state.nm.us). From your claimant homepage select “View and Maintain Account Information” and then “Contact Information.”
The 1099-G form will also be available within your online account under “View Correspondence.” To access, print, and save this form you will need to have Adobe Acrobat or other PDF reader software on your computer or device. If you are having trouble viewing your 1099-G, try the following:
Turn off your pop-up blocker
Use a different web browser, such as Google Chrome or Firefox
Use a desktop/laptop computer instead of a mobile device
If you are still unable to view your 1099-G, you may request a paper copy by submitting a request online at https://www.dws.state.nm.us/1099 or by emailing DWS.1099@state.nm.us. Please be sure to include your name and claimant ID number, but do not submit any other personal identifiable information. This email is for 1099-G requests only.
