President Obama's $4 Trillion Budget Goes To Congress
President Barack Obama sent Congress a $4 trillion budget request for fiscal year 2016 that not only includes repairing America's infrastructure, but helping Americans succeed.
Under the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act, this proposed budget would allow the U.S. Department of Labor billions in funding to:
- provide job training for workers who need to get back on their feet
- double the number of registered apprentices
- engage disconnected youth who are high school dropouts or are at risk of dropping out
- support employment services for unemployed workers including veterans receiving unemployment insurance
