What a great thing modern technology is! A webinar was held at the Southwestern Area Workforce Development Board that was both effective in addressing questions and concerns about issuing work permit certificates, and convenient for all who attended.Why does this seem like such an event? New Mexico's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.1 percent in March 2011, down from 8.7 percent in February and 8.2 percent a year ago. The national unemployment rate dropped to 8.8 percent. The over-the-month unemployment rate decline was unusually large and may be subject to later revision. The March unemployment rate estimate fell to a level similar to those posted early last year. Elephant Butte - The New Mexico Workforce Connection Centers have funds available to assist employers with up to 90% of their training wages depending on employer size through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
This training program is designed to assist employers by decreasing training costs on new hires within their businesses through on-the-job training. Employers participating in this program can potentially save thousands of dollars in training costs per employee.
